For we are God’s masterpiece, He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago. Ephesians 2:10
Ok God has a plan for our lives; I know that, this is like going back to Sunday school all over again. For some of us that never went to Sunday school, how do we come to understand His plan for our lives? If you did go to Sunday school you know in your head at least and maybe your heart at some time the simplicity of God’s truth. And for those like me that never went to Sunday school you have been told and have read about God’s truth, but how do I get this from my brain to my heart and truly live in it?
I had to start to retrain my brain, so I could come to understand that I am His masterpiece, that I am created “anew” in Him. I have come to understand that words are the most powerful wrecking ball that can swing through our lives. And they can also be the most healing when used the way God meant them to be.
The words of the reckless pierce like swords, but the tongue of the wise brings healing. Proverbs 12:18
Gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones. Proverbs 16:24
Once this is understood then comes the hard work of changing the way we speak and think, it will either be life or death as we interact with others. When we are frustrated or angry, we have to learn to walk in the opposite spirit, to which the enemy is enticing us to walk in. When we are upset we can easily walk in discouragement which then usual leads to cursing those that we think have wronged us even in the slightest of ways. Even when we are not angry, we can be lead to allow those around us, either by acts or words, to persuade us to the negative side of reality. So how do we move in the opposite spirit when we are going about our daily lives? From the time we get up in the morning until we lay our heads back down again many different things influence us. We have to come to the realization that it is only by the power of the Holy Spirit, God’s word and prayer that we can start to build a strong line of defense with in our spirit. Then the head knowledge we have must become true heart awareness to develop into a lifestyle of encouragement that is naturally how God intended us to be.
Finally, all of you should be of one mind. Sympathize with each other. Love each other as brothers and sisters. Be tender hearted, and keep a humble attitude. 1 Peter 3:8
