On Sunday morning during the beginning of prayer and into worship, I felt the Lord tell me the following: “We have been charged with placing the armor of God on each morning as we move into our day and wait upon the Lord; be sure to know you have each piece in place and have prepared yourself in praise and worship of our King...” So let us be assured that we have not missed a piece as we start our day.....
Belt of Truth
Let not mercy and truth forsake you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart, and so find favor and high esteem in the sight of God and man. Proverbs 3:3-4
A belt encompasses the waist. Does our conviction to the truth encompass us? As the above scripture notes, truth must be bound around us and written on our hearts—our conviction must reach beyond an outward show. The belt used in Roman armor provided a place for the soldier's sword. Our sword—the sword of the Spirit—likewise needs a sheath. Truth is vital because, like a Roman soldier's belt, it allows us to carry the sword of the Spirit and use it effectively.
Breastplate of Righteousness
My tongue shall speak of Your word, for all Your commandments are righteousness Psalms 119:172
Faith and love protect our hearts, and relate to righteousness. Faith works "through love" (Galatians 5:6) and Abraham's faith was shown by his doing what God said to do. Which was "accounted to him for righteousness" (Romans 4:3; Genesis 26:5). "'Faith,' as the motive within, and 'love,' exhibited in outward acts, constitute the perfection of righteousness" (Thessalonians 5:8). Once we have put on the breastplate of righteousness, we must be sure not to remove it, wearing righteousness is not a one-time event; rather, it requires a lifetime of action.
Your Feet fitted with the readiness of the Gospel of Peace
Shoes allow us to step freely and without fear while we turn our full attention to the battle at hand. Following Christ's steps is the way to real peace.
“How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: "How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, who bring glad tidings of good things!" Romans 10:14-15
He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked. 1 John 2:6
Shield of Faith
For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance. Romans 8:24-25 Faith involves a huge element of trust. Examine the evidence and see that God has proved Himself to be unchanging and consistent, and then we must firmly believe that He will fulfill His promises to us. If faith is "the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen," then this has far-reaching implications. Substance is tangible, and evidence is solid proof. Faith is, by definition, not some obscure emotion without any grounding in reality. It is the irrefutable truth. It is real.
Helmet of Salvation
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. 1Timothy 2:3-4 To give knowledge of salvation to His people by the remission of their sins... Luke 1:7 Salvation is the ongoing transformation process. Being "transformed by the renewing of your mind" (Romans 12:2). This involves having God's laws written in our minds and meditating on them so we can better follow them (Hebrews 10:16; Psalm 119:97-99).
The Sword of the Spirit the Word of God
Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. Psalm 119:105 Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth. John 17:17 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Hebrews 4:12 God's Word is truth, plain and simple. We can have perfect confidence in the fact that His words are accurate, true and unerring. When followed, they guide us without fail in the paths that we need to walk. God's Word illuminates. It reveals to us the good and the bad, the wise and the unwise.
So be encouraged in the walk, sprint and run that you are in with the Lord. Be at peace as He has given us all that we need for our daily walk by placing His Armor on daily....And allow His Holy Spirit to guide you into what God has next for you
