The Bridge Extension Concept
Extension ministries will create a bridge between the often confusing culture of the church and the mainstream culture of the everyday by existing and operating in the spaces where people live, work and play.
These ministries will vary in style, form and function as they embody the spirit of Christ in the culture in which they operate. This ministry philosophy goes to the people. It does not require the people to go to church. The philosophy of extension ministries also understands that being the body of Christ is extended far beyond the walls of the church embracing people because God already loves them.
The desire and need to belong, to find affinity with a community, and entity of people is one of the driving forces in today's postmodern, post evangelical reality. Being cognizant and attentive to the diversity within culture, people groups and geographies, extension ministries will be flexible and adaptable.
